Message from the President
The Intech Mechanical team consists of expert project management, estimating and design departments, along with our highly trained field personnel. Together, we deliver the final product to our clients in a timely and professional manner. With this extensive experience in the marketplace, we understand the needs of our clients, from the inception of a project, all the way through commissioning and warranty. Going into projects with the client’s perspective, helps us focus on meeting their requirements, just as we would want ours met. As a mid-sized contractor, our clients benefit by working directly with one of the decision-makers, versus a lower tiered employee, who may not be as interested in the project outcome.
Rick Chowdry has over 30 years of experience in plumbing and pipefitting (18 in project management and estimating). This includes field experience in heavy commercial projects, hospitals, university laboratory, office buildings, etc. He has extensive knowledge of plumbing, hydronic and medical gas systems, and experience with fuel systems. His administration and management experience includes estimating, project management, design build work at the conceptual phase, design, drafting, pricing and management through completion. As Founder and President of Intech Mechanical, Rick is a hands-on leader who oversees company operations, utilizing these years of experience. Rick’s leadership, communication and people skills are why he is able to develop strong relationships with General Contractors and Owners, as well as the growing team that is Intech Mechanical.
Vice President / Operations
Mike Friesen brings over 30 years of Senior Project Management experience in commercial and industrial HVAC to Intech Mechanical.
Facilities Project Experience:
Hospital new and remodel – OSHPD, Medical office building design build and design assist, University – Office/Administration and laboratory, data & communications, technical manufacturing, commercial office, schools, medical, Public Works, Air Force bases (McClellan, Beale and Travis and Mare Island), Sacramento Army Depot, Aerojet and Gencorp. He’s worked in mechanical project management, estimating, field engineering, Superintendent for plumbing and piping design build, field & shop metal fabrication, and Heavy Commercial Construction Practices.
Mike honed his skills with Air Systems of Sacramento, Perryman Mechanical, Foley-PMI, Inc. and Wismer & Becker/Guy F. Atkinson, Inc. The year Mike joined Intech Mechanical was the same year that they became the company to watch.
Vice President Marketing / Business
Gary Myers brings 25 years of corporate and HVAC project management experience to our firm. His career started in the late 1980s with Western Air and Refrigeration where he was the project manager for numerous HVAC projects in southern California. In 1996 he joined Airco Mechanical in Sacramento and was Vice President of Construction until 2009 when he joined Intech. His specific project experience includes hospital projects for Sutter Health and Kaiser along with laboratories at UC Davis and other projects that span the spectrum of complexity and range from plan/spec to design build. His strong leadership and extensive HVAC experience complement the strengths of the rest of the team producing a group with expertise across the gamut of HVAC, plumbing and piping
Vice President Construction
Pansy leads the Construction division of our Sacramento headquarters, which includes the project management group, field labor, safety & supply chain management. She is a hands-on leader and brings over 18 years’ experience to the team in both Mechanical Contracting and the General Contracting fields. Her experience includes design build and design assist contract delivery, as well as coordination, project management, labor relations, construction operations. Pansy’s background and experience provides Intech Mechanical with an experienced diversified leader.
Nevada General Manager
Eric has been working for Intech Mechanical since 2013 and has over 35 years of construction and construction management experience. He has an extensive variety of management and field experience including OSHPD Hospitals, Technology Facilities, Military Bases, Educational Facilities, Correctional Institutions and multi-use commercial projects.
Service / Operations Manager
Craig Sweeney brings over 25 years of Commercial HVAC sales and management experience to Intech Mechanical. Craig has held several roles in his career, such as, Account Representative where he focused on Owner Direct Customer development, Commercial Service Branch Manager, and West Region General Manager. Craig’s vast experience in the owner direct HVAC market along with his industry management and leadership experience provides a key element to Intech’s Service and Controls Departments along with General Management responsibilities for the company.
Automation Manager California / Nevada
Jason Turner has over 30 years experience in the commercial construction and retrofit industry with a focus on HVAC, Electrical, Service and Controls. He has a well-rounded proven track record of selling and implementing high dollar projects from concept through completion. His experience ranges from owning his own business to being responsible for managing a national team for a Fortune 500 Company. Jason’s vast experience in the Owner Direct HVAC market along with his management and leadership in service and controls provides Intech with a key individual and a valued asset to the company.
John Swagger brings 21 years’ expertise in the commercial mechanical, HVAC/R and Plumbing industry. To include, industrial, hospital, OSHPD, controls, assisted living requirements, tenant improvement, budget forecasting, life cycle analysis, design build assist, project management, estimating, customer development and retention. John is a great benefit to the Intech Mechanical team, he has well rounded experience and enthusiastic responsiveness to customer needs and requirements.
Dena M. Randall
Chief Financial Officer
Dena Randall brings over 20 years of finance experience. Her career began in public accounting where she worked with a wide range of industries before she found her passion for the Construction Industry. She is skilled in streamlining business processes and increasing efficiencies. Dena is a key member of the senior management team. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional and a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist.
HR / Payroll Manager
Lili Gonzalez is a Certified Payroll Professional who brings more than 15 years of payroll and human resources experience to Intech Mechanical. As the HR/Payroll manager, Lili is responsible for managing the payroll operations and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Her ability to connect with employees both in the office and the field play an integral role in maintaining trust and confidence between the management team and staff.
Gary began his career at NASA Ames Research Center where he moved up the ranks to run the Maintenance Engineering and Technical Services Department for Plant Engineering. He then moved on to work as the Principal Engineer and VP of a design-build MEPF firm that catered to the likes of NASA, Lockheed, Stanford University & Medical Centers, Kaiser, and many high-tech firms in “Silicon Valley”. He is a California-licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer with 28 years of engineering and design/build experience on mechanical, electrical, control, and plumbing systems for healthcare, government, commercial, and industrial market sectors. He has proven ability to design systems to balance first costs and life cycle costs as well as being a strong proponent of value engineering and value additions to make systems more cost effective for his customers.
Paul is a proud veteran of the USMC and has over 20 years’ experience as a Union Sheet Metal worker. He joined Intech in 2014 and has been a valued team member as a Foreman, General Foreman, HVAC Preconstruction and Pre-Con Manager. Paul uses his field experience, understanding of mechanical design, and knowledge of current code requirements to assist design and construction teams in translating mechanical design into practical, cost conscious installations. When working with project teams, Paul believes teamwork, communication, and the drive to do what is right, are the foundation to success.
Lead Plumbing Designer
Gary joined Intech Mechanical in 2011 after devoting 35 years to a family mechanical contracting business. During those years he held many positions from delivery person to Vice President. He brings many skills to Intech including estimating, project management and detailing. His most notable characteristics are his integrity and attention to detail not only while estimating but especially during planning and construction. His commitment to working with excellence and integrity make him a valued asset to the firm.
Kevin Dalke has over 20 years of construction experience. He has been with Intech since 2009. Kevin is knowledgeable in preconstruction, negotiated and non-negotiated HVAC bids, and customer development. His experience includes preparing commercial bids using various estimating systems, obtaining bids from sub-contractors, preparing scope of work proposals, reading and interpreting plans and specifications, always with the customer and Intech’s best interest in mind.
Project Design Manager
Jenna Baker has been with Intech Mechanical since 2016. With over 13 years of construction experience, Jenna has an excellent professional and personal reputation within the construction industry. As Project Design Manager, Jenna will oversee all aspects of the project from the initial project design kick off through construction and closeout. Jenna has a special passion for design build projects and has a proven track record of successfully managing design deliverables, cost management, project administration, and proficient communication with the General Contractor and design team.
Ricky Ramos has over 14 years of experience as a union plumber/pipefitter. 9 years of field experience with the last 5 focused on designing, modeling and coordinating plumbing and piping systems for pre-fabrication and install. He has been with Intech since 2014. As the VCS Manager, Ricky leads the modeling staff for assigned projects. Ricky works in conjunction with the Project Managers to provide direction and guidance to the modeling team to ensure that the modeling and coordination activities remain in alignment with the project budget, established scope and BIM execution plan.
Senior Plumbing Estimator
Sean joined Intech Mechanical in 1996 as a delivery driver and then became our first Purchasing Manager. After three years, he was trained in Autocad, design and estimating, and progressed into doing all of our design build projects, as well as estimating.
Sean is currently our primary estimator and his work ethic and attention to detail make him one of Intech’s most valuable assets.
Josh is responsible to lead the start-up and commissioning group. He brings over 10 years of valuable field experience to the team. He has installed and successfully commissioned a myriad of different types of Mechanical, Plumbing and Building automation systems, under the design build, design assist and plan and spec contract delivery. His background and foundational understanding and passion to execute the validation and commissioning component of a project, makes him a valuable member of the Intech team.
Safety Manager/Training Development
Scott brings over 30 years’ experience to Intech Mechanical. In his 10 year career as Production Manager with Motivational Systems Inc, Scott managed all shop staff including drivers, installers, production artists, purchasing, estimating.
Scott also succeeded in his position, supervising production sales, inventory control, product quality, scheduling, meeting division margins and financial goals.
In 2010 Scott started as the Warehouse Foreman and Fleet Manager with Intech Mechanical.
His position has now evolved over the years to include all the facility maintenance and manages the material coordinators.
Recently Scott was promoted to Safety Manager.
He is a true leader, managing his team with an enthusiastic “can do” attitude.
Senior Piping Estimator
Scott Boddy brings over 42 years of construction experience including 12 years’ experience as union plumber – pipefitter. He has been with Intech since 2014. As a Senior Plumbing and Piping estimator, Scott is responsible for all the plan take offs and pricing for Plumbing and Piping projects. Scott has estimated numerous projects including, hospital, prison, water treatment plants, schools and military projects. In addition, he works hand and hand with the Project Mangers to help with change orders, budgets, and buyouts as well as engineers on Design Build and Design Assist projects.
