Title: Controls Programmer/Integration Specialist

We are actively seeking a qualified DDC / Programmer / System Integrator to join our team of professionals. The right candidate will have experience using the Johnson Controls FX, Honeywell, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Tridium-Niagara platforms.

This individual will utilize software tools, and their knowledge of HVAC & Building Automation Systems to develop applications and instructions for DDC controllers and graphical front-end user interfaces.

The BAS programmer will work alongside Project Managers, Service Technicians, Field Installers, and the end user to fulfill the project requirements.

The ideal candidate will understand computers & networking on various levels (depending on experience). They must be able download Applications into equipment specific controllers and perform point to point verification of proper operation.

The BAS Programmer must be able to startup & commission, troubleshoot, modify, and make repairs to the system applications and the equipment being controlled or monitored by the controller. This role will additionally have the need for the BAS programmer to integrate with 3rd party equipment and controllers that already come with interfaces that have been “factory mounted & programmed”.

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years DDC programming experience with 3 or more years specialized experience in a BACnet, Tridium, and system integration.
  • Thorough knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical control systems including programming experience for HVAC and BAS systems is required.
  • Auto CAD or Visio experience is a must.
  • Strong computer related skills network and systems experience with broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures in systems development.
  • Knowledge of programming and writing operational logic.
  • Ability to review, understand and analyze all types of mechanical drawings, engineered control drawings, specifications, wiring and sequences.
  • IT networking skills are a plus.
  • Develop system graphic displays according to project specifications.
  • The right candidate will have excellent technical skills and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • This person must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position requires mature judgment and initiative.
  • Time management and organizational skills are also essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret control sequences and create programming logic.
  • Has technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development.
  • Support Customers and Service Technicians remotely with controls trouble shooting and calibration.
  • Set up system Graphical User Interface(s), trends, alarms, & reports.
  • Confirm program operation by conducting point to point tests and modifying program sequence if needed.
  • Maintain backups of customer databases
  • Provide end-user Training to customers upon completion of project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As a Building Automation Sales Executive, you will be responsible for managing your annual sales goals, building new business opportunities, maintaining and expanding existing relationships, on new construction, and owner direct and special projects. You must have the ability to quickly budget, propose and estimate multiple new construction opportunities for building control systems as well as quick response Retrofits. 

 

Qualified individuals must have a strong sales background, above average communication skills- verbal and written, and the understanding of Building Automation Systems, Graphics, Technologies, Mechanical Processes and Equipment. Must be able to demonstrate successful partnerships with multiple contracting tiers (Owner Direct, GC, Mech., Elec.).

  • Establish, grow and maintain contracting tier relationships to increase sales opportunities.
  • Partner with and qualify new construction leads with our Design-Build Dept.
  • Develop quotes, scopes of work, budgets and best designs for each opportunity.
  • Maintain CRM database and funnel development.
  • Attain and exceed sales, margin and funnel targets.
  • Demonstrate timely follow-up on quotes and wins/losses.
  • Ensure more than our “fair-share” of new project wins.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree, Technical degree, or a minimum of 5 years proven, successful track record of experience. 
  • Competent understanding of building controls, lighting solutions, energy efficiency solutions, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Honeywell and JCI Systems a plus.
  • Experience in the design, layout and budgeting of large complex building projects.
  • Understanding of estimating and project scheduling.
  • Proven ability to take a project from concept to completion.
  • Ability to manage technical sales processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be able to be part of a team.

  • Must be able to multitask and work under pressure of deadlines
  • Must be Goal Oriented with and enthusiastic and outgoing personality
  • Ability to manage technical sales processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be able to be part of a team
